VoX Communications Adds Cloud Internationally Calling to Android App

The new big trend right now in technology is storing data on a cloud service. Cloud computing is a way to increase capacity or add capabilities when employees are on the go, without having to invest in a new infrastructure, train new personnel or license new software.

Cloud computing encompasses any subscription-based or pay-per-use service that, in real time over the Internet, extends IT’s existing capabilities.

Although Cloud computing is at an early stage of development with a lot of companies such as Apple (News - Alert), Samsung and Google beginning to offer services to consumers, it has really grabbed worldwide attention. Mobile phone companies have taken advantage of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and have begun adding Cloud services for its subscribers.

VoX Communications (News - Alert), a cloud-based VoIP and video communications solution, has announced it will be adding new calling features during a trial plan meant to target the 300 million plus global users.

The new plan allows for internationally calling, a 60 minute free trial to test out the services, and allows for calls to be made on any 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi service worldwide.

Plans start at $4.95 and go up to $29.95 for an unlimited calling plan. VoX Communications will continue adding services including a brand new app for the iPhone (News - Alert) and a video calling feature.

Mark Richards, Pervasip’s (subsidiary of VoX Communications) Chief Information Officer said that with more than 300 million users this new cloud service addition would be a huge advantage for the app.

“We are very confident that the app has the potential to go viral through social media and we are pleased to say our app has already been downloaded in 146 countries,” said Richards. “We feel our app is superior in quality and features to our competition and our calling plans are priced competitively.”

According to Richards, the application doesn’t require a software upgrade, allowing for ‘push’ notifications to be sent when an upgrade is available. Richards also said the application offers a brand new interface that allows the company to personalize the plans offered.

The new application is available now and can be downloaded from the Android (News - Alert) Market.
