Riverbed Stingray software application recognized in web services excellence category

Feb 14, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD) reported its Stingray product family has been named a winner in the Web Services Excellence Category of the 2012-2013 Cloud Awards program.

Stingray, a software and virtual application delivery controller (ADC) with integrated web content optimization (WCO) capabilities, allows IT to consolidate, scale, and move applications easily between physical data centers, virtual environments and the cloud. This flexibility is critical for customers with hybrid cloud environments and provides scalability and agility that cannot be matched by hardware ADCs.

The Stingray product family is comprised of three products that can be deployed as software or as a virtual edition: the Stingray Traffic Manager which is a full-featured ADC, Stingray Aptimizer, an industry-leading WCO platform, and Stingray Application Firewall, a sophisticated application firewall for deeper application level security.

The cloud computing awards program accepts entries from organizations of any size -- from enterprises to start-ups -- in the US and internationally, with an aim to celebrate excellence in the field of cloud computing. Nearly 200 organizations entered, with entries coming from across the globe and including Europe, the US, and Middle East.

Riverbed delivers performance for the globally connected enterprise. With Riverbed, enterprises can successfully and intelligently implement strategic initiatives such as virtualization, consolidation, cloud computing, and disaster recovery without fear of compromising performance. The company's website is at www.riverbed.com.
