Visitors of the 34th Annual Creation Festival Northeast event to be held June 27-30 will enjoy high-speed internet access and get a taste of 4G LTE thanks to Verizon's new "Cell On Light Truck" (COLT (News - Alert)) on the Agape Farm in Huntingdon County.

Tablet and smartphone users attending the Creation Festival will experience the prowess of 4G LTE technology for the first time. Verizon (News - Alert) expects more than 80,000 of its customers to attend the four-day event.
Whether they're looking up details about the ongoing music event, updating their Facebook (News - Alert) status, tweeting on a performance or sharing favorite moments with a friend, Verizon customers will be take full advantage of the enhanced wireless service to capture the moment during the festival.
The COLT is a fully functional, generator-powered cell site, with the same call capacity as a freestanding cell site. It can process thousands of calls every hour when cell sites or other key communications equipment are damaged or disabled.
The 25,000-pound vehicle features two retractable masts, a microwave antenna to link network components, an emergency power generator and a small office.
The COLT lets visitors at the festival area use 4G LTE (News - Alert) wireless devices to access the Internet more quickly, listen to music or watch video on their phones, use thousands of apps and stay in touch with family and friends - all with speeds up to 10 times faster than before.
Officials with Verizon said their COLT is capable of helping customers at the festival share favorite moments and stay connected throughout the weekend activities.
At these large events, they look at how their customers' usage patterns are changing and increasing, and apply this information to make sure they stay well ahead of demand.
