Verizon expands its FiOS TV service to parts of Greenwich, Connecticut

US provider of broadband and other wireless and wireline communications
services Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) on Wednesday said that it is
now offering its FiOS TV service in parts of Greenwich, Connecticut.
Verizon's FiOS TV service is delivered direct into homes and businesses
over a 100% fibre optic network.
The company is offering a triple play of FiOS TV, FiOS Internet and
reliable telephone service in parts of Greenwich for USD89.99 per month.
In addition, new FiOS consumers who order a Verizon bundle as part of a
two-year contract can take advantage of the Worry-Free Guarantee,
allowing them to cancel their service within 30 days of the date of
activation, with no termination fee.
Also, the Greenwich Library and Greenwich Alliance for Education, will
benefit through FiOS sales, with the company contributing a portion of
each new FiOS connection to these organisations.
Verizon said, that since filing for a required franchise agreement from
the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control, it has been
making the necessary modifications to its Port Chester, New York,
central office in order to provide video service to the company's
Connecticut customers.
FiOS TV availability in Port Chester also will be expanded as a result
of the central office work.
Further, a Verizon FiOS TV exclusive will be the 3D broadcast of the
New York Giants and New England Patriots final pre-season game on 2
September 2010. Verizon FiOS1 is producing the 3D broadcast, which will
be shown on FiOS Channel 834 for FiOS TV subscribers in the New York
City area, including Long Island and Westchester and Rockland counties
and Greenwich, as well as for subscribers in northern New Jersey,
Mercer County, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Verizon said that customers must have 3D TV sets, 3D glasses and a
high-definition set-top box to view the broadcast.
