Fairchild Semiconductor Supports SOS Children's Villages

SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance products to drive energy-efficiency, donated a kitchen to a local initiative of SOS (News - Alert) Children's Villages in Germany. The appliances were part of an energy-efficient demonstration and consisted of a refrigerator, washing machine, sink, range hood and cabinets.


The donation was delivered to the SOS family-gathering facility "Zwergenschloss", i.e. the "Dwarf Castle". This SOS family-gathering facility encourages individuals and families to take part in many aspects of social life. The facility provides gatherings, creative and cultural programs as well as activities to encourage exercise, relaxation, health and family strengthening, all aimed at drawing visitors out of their isolation. The SOS family-gathering facility was founded on initiative of the SOS Counseling Center Cottbus and financed by SOS-Kinderdorf e.V.

"On behalf of everyone here at the family-gathering facility ‘Zwergenschloss', I wish to thank Fairchild Semiconductor for generously donating a kitchen for our facility," said Simone Pflaum, director of Zwergenschloss, an initiative by SOS-Kinderdorf e.V.
