Education and First-Hand Experiences Create Formula for Success as KioskCom Self Service Expo & the Digital Signage Show Close 2009 with Another Successful Showing in New York

TRUMBULL, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- Hailed as the leading dual-industry event created for self service and digital signage audiences, KioskCom Self Service Expo and The Digital Signage Show closed 2009 with yet another successful co-located conference at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from November 10-11. As promised, this year's fall event delivered strategic, marketing and technical business solutions for organizations involved in self service and digital signage, with the uncertain economy doing little to discourage excitement in either field. This fact was made very clear by the enthusiasm with which attendees and exhibitors discussed kiosk and digital signage use and development at the show.

For more than a decade, the highly-anticipated event has provided attendees with access to industry thought leaders, advanced technologies, insightful discussions and demonstrations, and case studies from well-known companies including The Coca Cola Company, Coinstar, Inc., Cabela's, Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Seventh Generation, SoloHealth and The Tween Network, among many others.

"A range of innovations were unveiled at this year's show, which offered a unique opportunity for first-hand discussions and innovative demonstrations in advertising planning and placement, data casting, anonymous facial recognition, 3-D aerial imaging and media management software, just to name a few," said Lyle Bunn, principal and strategy architect of Bunn, Co. and author of the popular SPEED training program. "With special events, including "Cooking Up Content," the demonstration of content development processes sponsored by Harris Corp. and Samsung, the SPEED digital signage training program and the release of new industry data by PQ Media, all served to advance the overall capabilities of the industry at large." This year, conference organizers also successfully created excitement surrounding the show through social media tools such as Twitter. Organizers promoted discussions among industry tweeters and provided live updates via their own accounts, @kioskcom and @digitalsignshow. Paul Flanigan, founding partner of The Preset Group and a conference speaker tweeted, "Day 1 at KioskCom in the books. Judging by the client / vendor conversations, I would say some books are doing much better tonight." Mike Honkomp, founder of Digikomp also tweeted, "Plenty to follow up with the KioskCom and Digital Signage show in NYC. Great show, met new connections and learned a lot in just 3 days." New to the show's line-up was Coinstar, Inc.'s "The Next Big Idea Contest," where the automated retail experts gave away $10,000 for the best new concept in retail-based kiosks. Presented by keynote speaker Gregg Kaplan, president and COO of Coinstar, the winner of the contest was San Diego-based ecoATM, a company who developed a kiosk allowing customers to recycle used cell phones and other electronics. During his keynote discussing best practices for successful self-service offerings, Kaplan said they chose ecoATM, because the program "essentially hits on every measurement we're talking about." "Once again KioskCom offered a very well-rounded event for attendees and exhibitors. The organizers did an excellent job of fueling the right conversations and putting together a variety of informative sessions and specialized tech talks aimed at helping attendees to better understand the various technology solutions available on the exhibit floor," said Janet L. Webster, President of Creative Solutions Consulting and President of the Self-Service & Kiosk Association. "The event provided easy access to all types of information that can definitely help you to create a solid strategy to meet your business needs as well as providing access to the technology that can support putting your plan into action." Each year, one of the most awaited events on the conference agenda for The Digital Signage Show is the DIGI Awards presentation ceremony. The DIGI Awards, presented by The Digital Signage Group and Digital Signage Magazine, are the only industry awards that recognize the outstanding integrators, content providers and now, product manufacturers focusing on digital signage. Winners at the 5th Annual DIGI Awards include: Retail Roll-out, Local: House of Media Experience for Miele Inspirience Centre Retail Roll-out, National: Level 5 / Hammond Communication Group for Sprint Studio Store Interactive Technology Roll-out: 2C Visual Communications for BC Children's Hospital Best Deployment, Transportation: IMediaT Digital for British Columbia Rapid Transit Company, SkyTrain Best Deployment, Entertainment: Cisco for Cisco Digital Signage System at Dallas Cowboy Stadium Best Deployment, Integration of Digital Signage and Mobile/Cell Phone Technology: Microspace Communications (News - Alert) Corporation for City of Raleigh, Capitol Area Transit (CAT) Best Content, Merchandising: Schult for Regal Entertainment, Digital Menu Boards Best Content, Ambient: Professional Communications Systems for Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (TBPAC) Best Content, Corporate Communications: Digital Display & Communication for Rogers Communications' (News - Alert) UR Music Best Content, Interactive: Monster Media for Oxygen Network's Dance You're Ass off Storefront Best Content, Advertising: Digital Display &Communication for HYPE Campaign/Rogers Stores Canada Best New Technology (News - Alert) Innovation in Digital Signage Displays: Samsung Electronics America for the Samsung 820TSn Interactive LCD Panel Best New Generation Display Device, Large Screen: ADEX International, Dual- Projection Glass Walled Structure with Polarized LCD Overlay Best New Display Device, Small Screen: MicroSigns Inc. for Integrated, Wireless Display Network and Content Management System Best New Generation Display Device, (non-LCD or Plasma): GestureTek for 3D Depth Sensing Interactive Digital Sign with Mobile Phone (News - Alert) Interactivity Best New Content Management Software/Web-based (SaaS): Thinking Screen Media, from Scala & Signarama Best New Content Management Software/Premise-based: Omnivex for Moxie Best New Audience (News - Alert) Measurement Package: CognoVision Solutions Inc. for Anonymous Impression Metric (AIM) Judges Choice Award: Walt Disney World for Their Digital Guest Communications "We are able to rate our success based on the goals we accomplish," explained Lawrence Dvorchik, General Manager for KioskCom Self Service Expo & The Digital Signage Show. "We aim to give attendees, exhibitors, speakers and media the opportunity to benefit from the wealth of industry knowledge shared at the show. The feedback we've seen and heard is a clear indicator that this has been accomplished." Named by Tradeshow Week as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Trade Shows in North America four separate times, KioskCom Self Service Expo has continued its reputation as the most critical, strategic, largest and longest running conference and tradeshow for kiosks and self service media and technology, worldwide. The expo has maintained more than a decade of success by delivering critical content and strategies to ensure deployment success directly from end-user companies that utilize these technologies within their organizations.

In addition to the fall shows in New York City, both The Digital Signage Show and KioskCom Self Service Expo host a co-located spring event in Las Vegas. Next year's spring event will take place April 14-15, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
