May 18, 2009 (The Sacramento Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Exceptional organizational skills. Check. Strong interest in public service. Check. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Check.

If you ticked these off on your mental checklist, you might be in luck. Hizzoner is hiring.

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is seeking an executive assistant.

The assistant manages day-to-day responsibilities, including the mayor's correspondence, scheduling, meeting and event preparation.

In the ad, posted on the city's Web site at www.cityof sacramento.org, and at governmentjobs.com, the mayor is seeking a "hard-working, detail-oriented professional -- who wants the opportunity to impact the direction of a new, visionary administration." Only online resumes are accepted. See the ad for details.

"We're trying to give them skills and resources. We want to leave them with a little more hope," she said.
