Aiming for the Hispanic market? Trade show is too!
(Bakersfield Californian, The (KRT) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 13--Want to nearly double the amount of people purchasing your product?
Going to the 15th annual Hispanic Consumer Trade Show is the first step in that direction.
The show, held at the Kern County Fairgrounds Sunday, will connect local businesses with a hard-to-reach market -- Hispanics from the outlying areas of Kern County.
"We try to attract people from outlying areas," said Lou Gomez, president and CEO of the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "They are the ones least exposed to products and services that our members offer."
About 65 member organizations will have exhibits at the booth and about 3,000 potential customers are expected to attend the event.
Hispanics in Kern County account for 45 percent of the population according to the U.S. census and their annual purchasing power is $5.6 billion, said Gomez.
"A lot of non-Hispanics do not market to the population and we are giving them a chance to do so," Gomez said. He hopes the businesses are able to "tap into" the vast groups of potential customers. The event will also allow the Hispanic population to see what is available.
The trade show is also child-friendly, with face-painting, live music and Folklorico dancers.
