Verizon partners with Camila to offer exclusive tracks on V CAST
(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Verizon Wireless, an operator of a wireless voice and data network and
a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone
(NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD), announced on Friday (6 June) that Camila, a Latin
music group, is partnering with Verizon to connect with fans via mobile
technology.
Camila is launching their first US tour with a 17-city schedule,
beginning on 6 June.
Verizon said that the company's customers who download Camila's content
via their V CAST-enabled handsets will have a chance to win a pair of
tickets for Camila's tour shows, sent directly to their phones.
In addition, Verizon will deliver six Camila songs exclusively to V
CAST Music customers. These songs are reportedly not available anywhere
else in the US and can be downloaded over-the-air directly to phones as
a full-song download, a ring tone or ring back tone. Customers who have
downloaded Camila music, ring tones or ring back tones will be
automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win a chance to meet Camila
in person.
Also, in each of the tour cities customers, who have downloaded any
type of Camila mobile content from V CAST, will be entered for a chance
to win one of 10 pairs of tickets. Song ID stations will be set up at
each venue to demonstrate how to use V CAST Song ID to listen to a
four-song live Camila EP available exclusively through Verizon
Wireless.
Customers will be charged USD1.99 per megabyte for data usage when
downloading ring tones or ring back tones. However, megabyte pricing is
not charged for downloading music or text, picture and video messaging.
