RSA Attendees Offered Hands-on Workshops for Security and Trusted Computing Applications

PORTLAND, Ore. --(Business Wire)-- Trusted Computing Group, the computing security industry standards organization, will host a half-day, hands-on series of workshops "The Trusted Platform: How to Enable, Use and Benefit" to show RSA 2008 conference attendees how to implement open standards network security, data security and PC security based on the ubiquitous Trusted Platform Module.

The workshops will open at 12 p.m. with lunch on Monday, April 7, in Esplanade 301-305 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, and continue until 4 p.m., followed by prize drawings. Attendees who are registered for the RSA 2008 conference or exhibits can attend the workshops at no cost.

Workshop presenters will include the organization's work group chairs and members who routinely speak and implement trusted computing solutions. Participating companies include Infineon, Juniper Networks, Seagate Technology, Wave Systems and others. Trusted Computing Group will also host a number of multi-vendor demonstrations in its booth, #2723, in the exhibit area. The booth will open Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m. and continue through Thursday, April 10, 4 p.m. Demonstrations will include various network access control scenarios, such as guest or remote work access security; full-drive encryption based on hardware; and PC security applications such as authentication, password management, single sign-on and others, using the Trusted Platform Module.

During the week of the event, RSA conference attendees can learn more about network access control by attending sessions at which Trusted Computing Group's Trusted Network Connect co-chair Steve Hanna will speak about:

-- Peer2Peer Discussion, P2P-104A, "Are You Using NAC? How?" on April 8, 12:15 p.m. to 1:05 p.m.

-- Enterprise Defense, DEF-302 on April 10, 9:10 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.

-- Inside the World of NAC Standards, STA-301, April 10, 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.

Trusted Computing Group member Wave's CEO Stephen Sprague will participate in a session on deploying trusted computing: "Papa Gino's Secret Sauce: Next-Generation Hardware-Based Security, CASE-401," April 11, 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

Trusted Computing Group, an industry organization that enables computing security, has created a portfolio of specifications to enable more secure computing across the enterprise. These specifications are implemented by manufacturers of PCs, servers, networking gear, applications and other software, hard drives and embedded devices.

More information and the organization's specifications and work groups are available at the Trusted Computing Group's website, www.trustedcomputinggroup.org. A new blog, www.trustedcomputinggroup.org/blog, offers commentary from work group chairs and experts in the fields of computing and security.
