Berry & Homer Wraps Bus Leading Lance Armstrong and Tour of Hope(TM) Team on Cross-Country Trek

PHILADELPHIA --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 10, 2005 -- Dramatic graphics of Lance Armstrong whizzing by on a bike emblazon the bus that leads the way for the Tour of Hope(TM) cross-country bike trek for cancer research. The bus graphics, developed by event sponsor Bristol-Myers Squibb, were printed and applied by Berry & Homer, a national leader in large format digital printing.

Cancer survivor and 7-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and 24 other bike riders kicked off the nine-day journey Thursday, September 29th in San Diego, and arrived in Washington, D.C., Saturday, October 8th.

The dazzling image covers five sides of the bus so it can be viewed by spectators up close as well as afar from overpasses and by TV cameras tracking the event from above. Berry & Homer produced the image on a pressure-sensitive vinyl using a VuTek 3360 grand format solvent inkjet output device.

"The grand-format output device is a giant ink-jet printer," says Berry & Homer Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Jim Eby. "It disperses ink at 360 dots per inch (dpi). This high resolution is necessary since the bus will serve as both a rolling billboard and a static display that people can view up close. The 48" wide sheets were applied by our skilled installation crew making this project a turnkey solution for our client," Eby said.

"We have a long-standing relationship with Bristol-Myers Squibb, but this marks the first Tour of Hope bus wrap we did for them. It's a great event with a worthy cause and we're very pleased to contribute," says Eby.

Berry & Homer also uses large-format technology to print banners for indoor and outdoor use, trade show exhibits, wall murals, point of purchase displays, signage, and even building wraps. Berry & Homer delivers the highest quality images on virtually any rigid or flexible substrates such as vinyl, mesh, textiles, paper, and canvas. Maintaining their status as the nation's oldest commercial photo lab, Berry & Homer also provides digital photographic output using Lambda and Lightjet output technology.

Founded in 1898, Berry & Homer is a premier national provider of visual communications solutions. With a commitment to excellence and unsurpassed customer service, customers trust Berry & Homer for all their graphic and imaging needs, including digital photographic output, inkjet, 3M Scotchprint(R), Vutek images, and finishing. Among Berry & Homer's more notable large format works are indoor graphics for Ellis Island, various displays at The Smithsonian, and graphics decorating the executive offices at the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens stadiums.
