Fusion Broadband Formed by the Merger of DMISI and Noment Networks, Two National Broadband Providers

ATLANTA, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Noment Networks and DMISI, both leaders in providing broadband for apartment and master planned communities, have merged to provide even greater service. The merged entity is now Fusion Broadband. The company is headquartered in Atlanta and begins operations with almost 40,000 end-users across over 20 states. Fusion Broadband's truly broadband networks (designed to carry multiple service signals over a single medium) transport satellite TV, high-speed Internet access, and telephony to the home. The merger became effective April 1, 2004.

"This was definitely the right choice," says Eric Fichtner, Fusion Broadband's CEO and former CEO of Noment Networks. "The combination of the two companies allows our customers to benefit from our synergies, experience, and market leadership."
"We bring proprietary technology, over a dozen years of operations, and a common vision of how to properly service our subscribers," added Fusion Broadband's Chairman and COO/CTO Mark Scifres, former President of DMISI. "With the greater resources at our disposal because of the merger, we will be able to extend customer contact hours and options, add tools for even greater performance of our community networks, and layer in local representation in multiple markets."
The purpose statement of Fusion Broadband is simple but earnest: "To continually improve how people and communities connect." Fusion Broadband offers residential communities several benefits. In delivering standard analog TV, the company can provide multiple options that exceed most cable company packages. For digital TV service, residents need not install individual satellite dish antennas to receive satellite TV -- unsightly dishes are eliminated from balconies and rooftops. Instead, residents enjoy a powerful, centralized dish system that connects them, regardless of their line-of-sight to the sky, with hundreds of channels of satellite TV. This system is not subject to interference from the elements, such as rain fade, and yields a highly reliable signal. For high-speed Internet service, Fusion Broadband offers service over a variety of preferred infrastructures - fiber, CAT5 Ethernet wiring, coaxial cable - and incorporates wireless access as well. Because of its proprietary technology, the company can manage the end user experience extremely efficiently, clear virus storms without damaging networks, and provide properties with service that is virtually self-healing and plug-and-play.
"In today's world, residents, especially in the student and home office markets, do not have the time and cannot afford to wait for cable or phone company representatives to deliver or restore service," Scifres says. "Fusion Broadband technology connects residents without technician visits and monitors their networks to ensure they enjoy their connection to the fullest."
A majority of Fusion Broadband's clients are student housing owners and upscale apartment owners who want to connect residents quickly to essential video and high-speed Internet services.
"This is a marriage of two great companies that should complement each other extremely well," says Henry Pye, Director of Ancillary Services for JPI. "Both DMISI and Noment routinely provide flexible, reliable, and robust data and video solutions that incumbent providers have seldom been able to match. I am eager to see what Fusion Broadband can accomplish."
Fusion Broadband has built operational processes to meet high resident expectations. While the company takes pride in its unique technologies to monitor and heal TV and Internet networks, its leaders insist it is their focus on customer service and productive relationships with property managers and homeowners associations that are the keys to the venture's lasting success.
