Wired Introduces MediaPress LE realtime MPEG Encoder for $2199
BIRCHWOOD, Minn. --(Business Wire)-- Dec. 6, 2004 -- Wired today announced the immediate availability of its new MediaPress LE(TM) realtime MPEG encoding card for Macintosh. MediaPress LE delivers professional encoding for the breakthrough price of $2199.
The MediaPress LE is ideal for facilities working with analog sources like Betacam or VHS. It offers the same great quality and controls as the industry-standard MediaPress X, and features component, s-video and composite video inputs, along with analog stereo audio inputs.
Mike Evangelist, president of Wired commented on the release, "Busy professionals no longer need to settle for the variable quality and long waits of software encoding, even if their budget is limited. The MediaPress LE is a pro-quality realtime encoder at a price far below any other."
MediaPress LE features include:
-- Built for Mac OS X and compatible with Power Mac G4 or G5 computers.
-- Realtime preview makes it easy to check your material before, during and after encoding.
-- Precision hardware preview to standard monitors available through the optional Mason HD(TM) (also announced today).
-- VBR MPEG-2 encoding quality - enhanced motion estimation and scene detection for improved results at lower bitrates.
-- Sophisticated batch encoding capabilities - MediaPress features powerful deck control and batch capture. Each batch item can have its own settings and items can be combined into a single output file if desired.
-- Automatic creation of DVD Studio Pro chapter markers - When items in batch are combined, MediaPress can insert chapter marker data at each edit. This data is automatically recognized by DVD Studio Pro when importing the stream.
Wired has also updated their flagship MediaPress X to add balanced audio inputs through the new BUB Box(TM) adapter. Built to fit into any production environment, the MediaPress X has SDI video inputs and AES/EBU and SPDIF digital audio inputs along with the full complement of analog inputs. The improved MediaPress sells for $3799 US.
